- The 'supervision retreat' was absolutely phenomenal. I have taken a different approach to doing supervision. The people that I supervise say that they like it better. Any up coming 'retreats' let me know! It was well worth the cost! js 2009
- ... There are those "things" in life which are simply meant to be. My individual and corporate experience with you, Philip, Pat, Jeri, Deb, and my collective peers in the field is one of those. Though my initial reason(s) for attending the CSI were to fulfill my professional licensure requirements (not a bad thing, really), I sensed from the get-go that this was going to be something extraordinary. When I discussed my anticipation of attendance with my professional mentor, I noted that I felt an expectation that I was going to be asked to "work" and to offer something of myself in the process, which is way different than just showing up to garner needed CEU's. She smiled, paused, and said, "and you're ready for that, right?" So, my constructive feedback is that I appreciated your initial email in which you informed me to prepare to work, the piece about outside homework. That was helpful and gave me a heads-up that there was an expectation that I was to become involved.
Not unnoticed by me is also the environment which you created to care for the human needs of your participants and to provide a comfortable, pleasant, and inviting space to co-create. I noted to my twin brother that I felt nurtured and supported throughout the institute with an abundance of choices for snacks, hot/cold beverages, interesting art and literature to view, temperature control, privacy when needed, accommodating seating (the yoga back jacks are great), and other amenities that let me know that you are interested in sharing information in an environment that supports the learning process. That's so refreshing and a piece that many presenters completely miss -- I'm not as apt to learn new information sitting in an uncomfortable chair, hungry, cold/hot, and needing to go to the restroom for the last 30 minutes.
Your clarity of instruction, information, direction is amazing. I must admit, some feedback I get from my supervisees is that what's in my head, at times, doesn't reach the conference room. I noted that you each were very careful with word choice, aware of learning styles, picking up context clues from the participants and the process of checking-in. That's so hard for me. It takes time, energy, and focus. I learned a lot about myself and a skill set that I want to develop in sharing content with my staff ... ak 2009
- Thanks for the info ... Again, I would like to say I
really enjoyed the workshop. I particularly enjoyed the way you and Philip
worked together in presenting it, it seemed effortless. - jm 2005
- ...I am thankful that you have put together this kind of group and I can't wait to be part of it. I have told many people about your trainings and how well done they are. They are experiential and dynamic which is different then most of whats out there ... mf 2008
- I loved the role plays. It helped me get out of my head! - rb 2005
- Just a note to thank you for a GREAT supervision workshop on Friday. Both you and Philip did a wonderful job using a much more "practical" and less academic approach to counselor supervision!! You seem to have a balance on content, streamlining what is important for supervisors and the application component. It was great meeting Tammy as well. (an added bonus!) You are more than welcome to use me anytime as a testimonial of the great work you both do!! :) :)
I attended your Ethics session several years ago and felt the same about that one as well.
Thanks again for the commitment you put forth in supporting the counseling profession. Look forward to staying in touch. BTD 2008
- Probably the first workshop I've gone to where I actually received what I expected/hoped
for. I was pleasantly surprised by the setting and now wonder how I can ever go back to an auditorium filled with people.

- ...thank you for a wonderful experience!!! You and Philip just did an OUTSTANDNING job of covering a lot of information in an enjoyable manner. The time just flew by! I really liked the small group approach and the interactive activities were beneficial. I thought the way we answered the questions about the code of ethics was a great way to get us to look it over, something that it is hard to make time for on your own! - ac 2006
- What a revitalizing workshop! Whether you are a new supervisor or a
well seasoned one, this is a workshop that not only enhances your
supervision skills it also invites you to move away from the isolation
of a supervisor's world and seek out peer supervisors for support and
growth. This all happens in an environment that is safe, encouraging
and energetic. Thank you Randi and Philip! A group of us "rural"
supervisors are already working on setting a date to meet! - mj 2006
- Let me take this opportunity to tell you how much I enjoyed the training earlier this month. I'm sure you have heard this before, but I was so impressed with your honesty, enthusiasm & knowledge of the subject. Thanks!-SM 2006
- Please accept our thanks for your extraordinarily unique and motivating presentation. Your friendly and energetic style was entertaining and your narrative was a refreshing and welcome diversion from the "daily grind." ...We felt the entire presentation was a huge success! - tt 2004
- I wished that the workshop had been longer! - ms 2004
- What FUN! Being an active participant rather than a passive listener is a wonderful change! - dg 2004
- You are very genuine in your presentation. Your "realness" makes the information even that much more interesting. - rm 2003
- I loved your setting. It was comfortable and attractive. As a floor-sitter, I particularly enjoyed the "chairs." - lt 2003
